A Triumphal Entry

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. –Galatians 6:9 NKJV

The events of Palm Sunday are found in the Bible and referred to as the Triumphal Entry. This is actually the first step toward the Cross. As Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a colt, the people waved palm branches and were so excited to see Him. They were looking for a King to overthrow the Romans. However, what they didn’t understand was that Jesus wasn’t arriving to be their earthly King, but He would be an eternal, heavenly King. As they waved their branches honoring Him, the people of Jerusalem didn’t realize that Jesus was on His final journey to His crucifixion. This was His mission from His birth—to give His life for ours. John 10:18 (NLT) says, “No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” We look at Palm Sunday knowing the agony Jesus went through for us—but also knowing the joy of His resurrection. Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Thank You, Jesus, for Your sacrifice for me.

If you were the only one on this planet, God still would have sent His Son.
