One of you routs a thousand, because the Lord your God fights for you, just as he promised. –Joshua 23:10 NIV
Walking with God is the greatest thing you can do on earth! However, that does not mean you won’t have hard moments and want to give up. Does that mean you’re not saved? No! Does it mean you’re weird or there’s something wrong with you? Absolutely not! Your decision to follow Jesus instantly set some things in motion: you now have the God of the universe working out His best for your life; and you now have an unseen enemy who is absolutely aggravated over your choice and doing his best to discourage you. (There’s lots more, but these’ll do for now.)You may have read about an “unseen enemy” and panicked—no need. Here’s the thing: this God you chose to follow is big and awesome and A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.! Of course you know that, otherwise why choose to follow Him, right? So, as you walk through your day, continue thanking God for who He is and how much He loves you. And, if you have one of those moments, tell the enemy he’s got nothin’ on the God you serve! That’ll start the rout—then stand back and watch how God finishes it!
Thank God for choosing, calling, drawing, loving you! (Read Romans 8:29-30.
) Ask God to remind you that He is more powerful than any enemy or weapon! (See Psalm 16:7-8; 1 John 4:4; Isaiah 54:17.)
