Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him and He will help you…Be still in the presence of the Lord; wait patiently for him to act… –Psalm 37:5,7 NLT
Have you ever prayed “worried” prayers instead of faith-filled ones which are full of trust in God and His Word? Do you continually recite your problems to God instead of His promises? Carrying cares and concerns produces worry and fear that impact the way you pray. Our Father wants to relieve you of worry and fear, remind you of the Truth, and bring you to a place of peace in His presence. Then you will be able to pray with confidence. The key verses above provide a good guideline to help you pray with faith. The Hebrew word for “commit” in Psalm 37 literally means, “to roll something off of yourself, transferring it to another.” On the other hand, “trust” means, “to have confidence in another to the point of throwing yourself and yourcares onto them.” This act enables you to be care-free and fearless. Once you commit and trust, you can enter “rest” where you can be still, quieted, and peace-filled.When you go to God in prayer, first take time to commit —placing all your concerns in the Lord’s keeping; trust—confidently releasing yourself and each care to Him; and rest—being quiet and still. Now you are positioned to hear, praying Spirit-led, confident prayers that get supernatural results.
Ask the Lord to reveal any burdens that are causing worry.
Ask Him to help you commit, trust, and rest in Him. Thank the Lord for continually teaching and growing you in the area of effective prayer
