Don’t Stumble in Darkness

Jesus spoke to all the people, saying, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will not walk in darkness. He will have the light of life.” –John 8:12 NLV

The first thing you do when entering a dark room is to look for the light switch. If the light does not go on, you may likely experience fear, since the light provides protection from obstacles in your path. Walking in darkness can be dangerous. This darkness is a metaphor for your life before accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.Second Corinthians 4:4 (NLT) says, “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand the message about theglory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” You were in the dark, waiting for a light to go on. But, now, the Lord’s light shines in you.First Peter 2:9 (NIV) explains, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”Draw near to Jesus. Ask Him to empower you with His spirit and make His light shine brightly through your life.
