Fix Your Eyes

The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. –Numbers 6:25-26 NIV

A young couple was pleasantly surprised to discover that a restaurant they’d chosen had live music. The highlight of the night occurred when an older couple got up to dance. By the way they moved on the dance floor, it was apparent that they’d been dancing together for years. With rhythm and grace, they turned and twirled as if they were one. But what most impressed the couple watching them dance was how the older woman never took her eyes off of her husband. She never looked to the left or right; she kept her eyes locked onto his face. She glowed with a radiance that was unexplainable. Her love for him was mesmerizing. What a perfect picture of what our love for Christ should look like.We should fix our eyes on Jesus by looking fully into His wonderful face, as the old hymn says. When we refuse to look to the left or right, but focus only on Him, we truly become one with Him. The radiance of His presence will shine in our countenance as we fix our eyes upon Jesus today.

Lord, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You.

Thank You, dear Lord, for never taking Your eyes off me.
