Freedom is Not Free

And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. –John 8:32 NIV

America celebrates its freedom on July 4th, but a heavy price was paid for that liberty. Many lives were sacrificed for our independence. Our salvation, as well, was not free.On the cross, Jesus paid the price for our freedom. He gave His life for us—a debt we could never repay. John 3:16 (NIV) tells us,“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”We were set free from sin and death by love. John 15:13 (NIV) explains,“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” There is always a price to pay for any liberation. Jesus paid the ultimate price. Praise God for His sacrifice!
