On a sunny day, the reflection of your shadow is easy to see. As you walk your chosen path, the sun hits you and casts an image of your body that follows you everywhere. But the moment a cloud blocks the sun’s rays, you are suddenly, seemingly alone. 

God, the Father, is pursuing you. Better than your shadow, He walks with you always—because He is Light. He has given you the freedom to follow your chosen path; and with every twist and turn, He is always with you. He is waiting to offer you wisdom, extend His mercy, and grant you grace. Unlike a shadow, God is always with you, whether the sun is shining or the clouds are storming.

If you walk away from the Light of His Son Jesus Christ, you may suddenly feel alone. However, God does not abandon you. He is still with you, waiting to offer you wisdom, extend His mercy, and grant you grace. David, a man after God’s own heart, asserts in Psalm 139:7 (NIV), “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life…” God is pursuing you!
