My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. –John 17:15-16 NIV
What does “carried away” mean? In fairytales, the heroine is carried away to a better place and a better life than she had been living. It’s a place where she can cast all cares away because she has her knight, and he has her. That’s what God wants for each of us. He wants to carry us away, wrap us in His strength, and shelter us in His love. He wants us to live freely, casting all of our cares on Him.We find ourselves in a foreign land with a real enemy who is trying to steal all the power and authority granted to us by God. However, we have the advantage—our Father is King. God reigns supreme over all creation and nothing can deter Him from His will.“We are citizens of Heaven” (Philippians 3:20 NLV), living in a fallen world. We have been given instructions for living out the Lord’s will with joy in order to reach the lost and hurting. Our mission, while here, is to guide others to the One who can change their lives forever. As we carry out God’s plans, we draw closer to our Father, finding “rest in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1 NIV).
Thank God for protecting you while you are in this world.
Ask for the strength and courage to stand up to your enemy, knowing God has already overcome your adversaries
