The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David; He will rule Jacob’s house forever—no end, ever, to his kingdom. –Luke 1:33 MSG
Can you imagine being a young girl and finding out that you have been handpicked to deliver the Deliverer? Considering the fear and anxiety such a revelation would evoke, how would you respond? Or, what if you were Joseph, a man of integrity, who suddenly discovered that your betrothed was with child? How would you react?Would you respond as Mary did, saying, “I am willing to be used of the Lord. Let it happen to me as you have said” (Luke 1:38 NLV)? Would you defy the conventions and obey God’s calling, as Joseph did?How do you react when the road gets tough? It is difficult enough to see a child with a scraped knee. Imagine Mary watching her son make that long walk toward his crucifixion? Would you still say, “Let it happen to me as You have said,” or would you begin to question God’s choices and doubt His promise that there would be no end to your son’s kingdom? You might not be called to such a world-changing task, but God may ask you to do something uncomfortable. Maybe He’ll call you to jail ministry, to be a foster parent, or go on a mission trip, or to talk to somebody with a hardened heart. Will you answer the call? The enemy will do everything he can to convince you to run away, but God wants you to know that regardless of thetask, He will guide you through it.
Thank the Lord for His guidance in the mission He has for you today.
Ask God to strengthen you in the journey.
