He Embraces You!

So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. –Luke 15:20 NIV

Have you ever watched loved ones greet each other at the airport? You may see scenes like grandparents scooping up their grandchildren, planting playful kisses on their cheeks; a father patting a son on the back with pride; a couple sharing a long embrace after being reunited. It’s a joy to witness their love for each other. In today’s Scripture passage, we read about the father of the prodigal son who could not contain his excitement at seeing his wayward son. The father didn’t just meet his son as he returned to his home—he ran to him, embraced him, and enveloped him with his love!
