His Abounding Joy

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. –Matthew 11:28 NKJV

When  things go wrong in our lives, we often look for remedies in the world around  us. We read books and magazine articles, we seek the guidance of therapists  and doctors, and we request the advice of family and friends. Though friends  and physicians are sometimes necessary, we forget that the Great Physician of  all physicians is available to us. He is our Lord, our Healer and Savior,  Jesus Christ.    Jesus said, “Come to Me all who labor and are heavy laden.” How incredibly  fortunate we are for the blessings and privileges that this invitation from  our Lord provides. We don’t need to carry the burden of shame and sin, or  worry over seemingly insurmountable problems.    The Lord welcomes us to let Him carry the load. He wants to set us free  from the excess baggage that we are carrying. The Lord invites us to have  rest, freedom, and peace in His loving arms. Let’s go now to the Cross,  giving the Lord all of our burdens and pain, so we can be filled with His  abounding joy.
