If your gift is that of serving, serve them well…. –Romans 12:7 TLB
The definition of “serve” is simply to be of use; to be a servant. Jesus was always serving. He healed the blind, made the lame man walk, resurrected the dead, washed the disciples’ feet, and fed five thousand people—He even made His disciples a meal after they spent an entire night fishing without catching anything!Serving is one of the gifts of the Spirit we’ve been given. The apostle Paul tells us that if we have the gift of serving, then let us serve (Romans 12:7 NIV). Let us serve with joy; let us serve with love; let us serve with diligence; let us serve in its entirety. Let us do everything as if we are doing it for the Lord Jesus Christ—this is pleasing and acceptable to our Father. So church, serve in whatever way the Lord has put on your heart. Go for it—He will give you the ability!
Ask the Holy Spirit to give the church His gift of serving.
Pray that our hearts will experience the joy that comes from serving the Lord.
