When we submit our lives to God, we become like Play-Doh in His hands. He is the Potter; we are the clay. He is our Creator, and we are the work of His hands. Through His sculpting, He molds, shapes, and transforms us into the vessels He desires.In Romans 9:20-21 (NIV), we read, “But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?” God has the right to shape us into whatever type of vessel He desires for His Kingdom purposes. If we resist this transformation process, like Play-Doh left overnight, we become a hardened piece of clay that is neither soft nor pliable.While in His skillful hands, we need to cooperate as He transforms us, from glory to glory, into the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ. This transformation process is painful; but once completed, God has a serviceable vessel for His Kingdom purposes—a divinely sculpted masterpiece molded by the skillful hands of God.
