After the resurrection of Jesus, we read in Acts 2:43-45 (NIV), “Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.” This is a wonderful picture of being devoted to each other. The believers met together and shared all they had, holding back nothing, and doing it in true fellowship and love. The entire Christian faith was designed to be in the context of community. We are not designed to live life on our own—we need each other. Jesus is the perfect example of serving others during His time on earth. We should want to do the same. We were given the Holy Spirit to guide us. Look at your life and recognize where the Holy Spirit might be working through you to help others. When we follow Jesus’ example and let the Holy Spirit lead us, we will have a better and healthier walk on this earth. Let’s love each other well!
