No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. –Romans 8:39 NLT
The University of Virginia conducted a study. The researcher’s results were consistent. They determined when you are alone and anticipating a shock, the regions of the brain that process danger light up. However, if holding a trusted person’s hand, the brain is relaxed. When you have the comfort of a friend, pain and suffering are more bearable. When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane about to face death, He asked His closest friends to stay and pray with Him, but Matthew tells us that Peter, James, and John kept falling asleep. This happened three times. Jesus did not have a hand to hold. He faced arrest, betrayal, and death alone. His suffering was for you—the ultimate separation when He hung on the Cross. Only love could have kept Him there. You can be confident that you will never be abandoned or separated from God’s love. His whole purpose for going to the Cross was you. He bore the pain and isolation in the garden for you. You can be sure He will never leave you or forsake you. So, believe and trust that you are never alone.
Thank God that His love will always be with you.
Praise Him that as His child you are never truly alone.
