Overwhelmed with Worry

…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. –Isaiah 40:31 NIV

We know that God loves us and that He will continue to bless us. But, we can still become overwhelmed with life’s burdens. Some trials are just too difficult to handle on our own. At such times, we need to remain firm, trusting God who sees all things. “Be firm in the faith…knowing that other believers throughout the world are going through the same kind of suffering” (1 Peter 5:9 GW).Dr. Charles Stanley, a wise Christian author and pastor, has said, “Fight all your battles on your knees and you win every time.” As we humbly kneel, laying our worries at the foot of the cross, we acknowledge that we are powerless, but God is powerful. With this act of obedience, our Lord promises to each of us “…the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7 NKJV).The outcome is in His hands. We need to keep believing, keep praying, and keep trusting the Lord. God will see us through.
