Colossians 3:12-17; Matthew 7:1-5; 1 Corinthians 1:10
Family. Just saying the word elicits emotions and memories. For some, pleasant, for others painful and complicated. If that is your story, I am so sorry. I can say with confidence that the Father’s intent is to redeem what was lost or missing and renew your memories and experiences. As part of the family of God, we are to each other – brothers and sisters. In fact, the phrase “brothers and sisters” is used 506 times in the NIV. Scripture gives us a clear blueprint of how we are to treat one another as members of the family of God.Listen to the exhortation from Scripture; clothe yourselves with compassion, be humble, kind, gentle, and patient with one another. Forgive each other. That bears repeating, forgive each other. Love one another, resolve conflict, be wise, and encourage one another in Christ’s teaching. Do not judge one another and do not let anything divide you. This is how the members of Christ’s family are to treat one another and it will require the power of the Holy Spirit to live it out! How are we doing? Is there an area that is harder for you than another? Is there someone you need to extend forgiveness to? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
In what ways is the Holy Spirit speaking to You from God’s Word? How can you apply this to your life? Take some time to journal your thoughts.
Prayer Holy Spirit, to those around me, help me to extend . . .
