Prepared, Part 2

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies…. –Psalm 23:5 NKJV

Sitting in an empty parking lot, a couple reviewed their options. He was unable to work and had failed to elect short-term disability. Due to their two small children and a disabled husband, she was unable to work. They had no local family support and no savings or emergency fund.Maybe this isn’t your story, but perhaps your life has felt this hopeless before. Like the story above, the enemy plans and primes the situation, bringing about every ounce of pain, fear, and strain. But God is prepared: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me…” (Psalm 23:4 NKJV).Though the devil means to harm and destroy you, God uses your circumstances for good (see Genesis 50:20). Your season may be devastatingly painful, but God is with you. When the enemy believes he has won, God brings about healing, restoration, and victory. In the presence of your enemy, God has prepared a table before you. Whatever you are walking through—even if it’s bad, even if it’s worse—know that God is walking with you. And He will bring you through it so you can sit down at the table that He has prepared for you.
