Promise of Peace

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. –Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Have you ever been stuck in traffic, only to find out that the traffic was due to onlooker delay? If everyone focused on the path ahead, the traffic would move smoothly, but we are drawn to look to the side, slowing us down and risking another accident. Sometimes, instead of focusing on God we look to the side and get caught up in all the disruptions and distractions. We allow those things to rob us of our peace, take us off our path, and delay spiritual maturity. When our minds are steadfast, firmly fixed in the direction of God, He promises to give us perfect peace. We don’t have to be disrupted, distracted, or delayed. Maybe you are finding it hard to see where God wants to take you next in your journey. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you keep your gaze firmly fixed on Jesus. Then He will bring you into peace, and you will hear Him speak to you and lead you clearly. Carve out time to spend in the Word daily. The Bible promises, “Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble” (Psalm 119:165 NIV).
