The video game, Super Mario Brothers, actually offers great insights for our Christian faith, as we examine the strategies that good players employ.Experienced players look for the obstacles and challenges, knowing that there are rewards waiting for the person who not only finds them, but figures out how to persevere through them. This is a great life lesson.Rewards can often come via challenges, learning curves, and even repeated failures. If we persevere, allowing and working through failure, we learn. And as we learn, we gain godly character, becoming more like Jesus.What is the end result? God gets the glory, we grow in our faith, and the lives of those around us may be transformed. Life lessons can be found in the most unexpected places. Thank you, Jesus, that perseverance leads to godliness, to looking and sounding more like You.
Lord, help me to focus on You, and not the circumstances, as I work through difficulties, knowing that overcoming the obstacles will strengthen my faith.
Lord, thank You for the challenges I will face today and for the help You will provide so I will grow in my faith.
