Be strong and have strength of heart. Do not be afraid or shake with fear because of them. For the Lord your God is the One Who goes with you. He will be faithful to you. He will not leave you alone. –Deuteronomy 31:6 NLV
Is your life filled with a lot of ups and downs or twists and turns? You may feel, at times, as though you are on a roller coaster, wanting anxiously to get off. Correspondingly, one minute, your walk with God can be on a high; while the next moment, it can be on a low. It is natural to crave life’s mountaintop experiences. But regardless of how well you prepare, there will always be ups and downs in life. You can avoid being a roller coaster Christian by fixing your eyes on God. With His help, you can enjoy His peace that passes all understanding.
You may stumble in your everyday life, but the Lord will not let you fall. Trust God. He is the only refuge to turn toward, when the ride of life is rocky. Perfection does not exist here on earth. But you can trust that God has a plan, and His plan is for your good. When you feel that you have no control over the ride of life, remember that Jesus does, and He is sitting right next to you, holding tightly to your hand.
Lord, help me to remember Psalm 119:105 (NIV): “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
Thank You, dear Lord, for walking with me through the ups and downs of life.
