Our Love Walk

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. –1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NIV

God gave us physical hearts to live. He takes our stony hearts that need transplanting and gives us spiritual hearts of flesh to receive and extend His love. As heirs of Christ, we’re recipients of God’s love. Agape love is what people need. God’s love is not a notion, nor mere words. His love is compassion in action. God’s love never runs dry, never goes out of style! The fruit flowing from you shows what’s inside you. If you’re harsh, bitter, or rude, then the one who’s controlling you is not the Holy Spirit. Here’s how you can test your love walk. In the following verses of 1 Corinthians 13 (verses 4-7), insert your name in the blank, in lieu of the word “love.” Let God speak to your heart…(_____) is patient and kind. (_____) is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. (_____) does not demand (_____’s) own way. (_____) is not irritable, and (_____) keeps no record of when (_____) has been wronged. (_____) is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. (_____) never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

prayer focuses

Lord, search my heart and make known to me what areas and matters my love walk is not up to par.

God, fill me with Your love. Holy Spirit, help me be a recipient and minster of God’s love. Today, show me ways I can share this spiritual fruit of love.
