Glow sticks serve one purpose—each is a source of light. However, only when broken is a luminous light released and the purpose accomplished. On the Cross, Jesus suffered brokenness and experienced the darkness of death. However, as believers in Christ, we know that three days later He rose from that dark place and excelled with a luminous glow that shimmered beyond the natural eye. As bearers of the light of life, being a glow light is a part we play in God’s story of redemption. Jesus loves when we guide others toward Him, the Light of the world, so those perishing in the kingdom of darkness can convert and become a living part of God’s glorious Kingdom of Light.Wherever God has strategically placed you, you’re there to shine like a glow stick by the light of Christ within you. Proverbs 4:18 (MSG) says, “The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine.” Whether at home or the workplace, running errands or at school, as imitators of Christ, we’re conduits of His light—offering hope, encouragement, exposure, and truth to those around us.

You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light (Psalm 18:28 NIV).

Ask God to help you glow with His light in every situation.
