I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. –John 15:5 NIV
It’s so easy for me to get disconnected from my Vine, my Source—Jesus Himself. Disconnected? How so? Trust me, the disconnect process can be so subtle that you don’t even know it’s happening. We get too busy with life’s chores and details. We get swallowed up by its concerns. We get disillusioned by its disappointments.Soon we’re making excuses for not spending time in the Word and in fellowship with our Creator and Lover. And without realizing it, we become dry. We have no anointing for healing the sick and casting out demons. We become cold, callous, and…well, disconnected. We become like those Paul describes to Timothy: “having a form of godliness but denying its power…” (2 Timothy 3:5).May that not be said of you and me! Let us daily tap into His resurrection power!
Lord, I declare this day my dependence on You for fullness of life and godliness!
Lord, I declare this day that as I am connected to You, I will bear much fruit!
