Our Great Intercessor

Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. –Romans 8:34 NLT

In Luke 22:32, Jesus is telling Peter that He is interceding for  him. Jesus is praying for strength during Peter’s testing. Paul also tells us  in Romans 8:34 that Jesus is interceding for us in Heaven. God has removed  our sin and guilt and has acquitted us because of what Jesus has done on the  Cross for all. Jesus is the only Mediator between God and humans; there is no  other.    Know that Satan accuses, his name means “accuser,” and he continually  points out our sins before God. Yet, Jesus is our Advocate. Hebrews 4:15  tells us that Jesus has been through weakness and testing, experienced it  all—all but the sin. He assures us of God’s forgiveness.    Hebrews 7:25 tells us of how Jesus is always caring for us and is  continually, through His permanent priesthood, interceding for us before the  throne of God. When Jesus died, all our sin was transferred to Him, and His  righteousness was given to us. This is the great exchange Paul talks about in  2 Corinthians 5:21 (NLT), “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the  offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through  Christ.”

prayer focuses

Thank You, Jesus, for interceding on my behalf.

I do not deserve it, but thank You for doing it anyway! Jesus, thank You for loving me and accepting me even when I make a mistake. Thank You for offering me forgiveness no matter what I do.
