The New Has Come

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. –Romans 8:18 NIV

The year is 2022, and we have come to the other side of a devastating pandemic. Some are still suffering from physical and emotional issues. But we are thankful that the Lord has seen us through this horrific period in history. Our loving Savior has been with us, carrying us through it all. It is time to take our eyes off of the struggles and ponder the grace and blessings we have received from the Lord this past year. And, we need to look forward to the coming years. We know not the future, but God our Majestic Savior does. He tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” Let us not dwell on the sorrows of this past year; but let us march forward with a new perspective, as we place our lives in the hands of our Creator. The apostle Paul set the example for us. “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-15 NIV).

prayer focuses

Thank You, my dear Lord, for getting me through this year’s struggles, surrounded by Your love.

Lord, help me to keep looking forward, and to stop dwelling on the past.
