The Potter's Hand

“…Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand…” –Jeremiah 18:6 NIV

Have you ever been to a state fair and watched a person making pottery? The potter works with such patience, precision, and diligence to create a masterpiece. The potter takes a piece of clay and shapes it. When finished, it is examined very carefully to make sure it is perfect. The piece of pottery cannot have any flaws or imperfections, or it will not sell.

The Lord is like a potter. He takes us and molds us into the beautiful creations He wants us to be. He has planned each of our lives individually, and His desire is to bless us in all of our ways. However, sometimes we become indifferent and complacent in where we are in Christ Jesus.

With great determination, let us surrender ourselves completely to the Savior; and He, like the potter’s hand, will smooth out the wrinkles and chip away anything in our lives that hinders our walk with Him. The Lord, like the potter, will then mold us into the magnificent masterpiece He desires us to become.

My heavenly Father, I pray to have the most beautiful, intimate relationship with You during my journey toward eternity.

Jesus, mold me into Your character and help me be a witness for You with my entire life.
