Thirsty?

Hey there! All who are thirsty, come to the water! –Isaiah 55:1 MSG

It was the last day of the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles, a thanksgiving celebration of God’s provision in the wilderness—including the miraculous outpouring of water from a rock (Exodus 17). Jesus stood up and cried loudly, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them” (John 7:37-38 NIV). Jesus was referring to the Holy Spirit who had not yet been given. Are you feeling fearful, worried, confused, or depressed? Is your attitude deflated? Your soul is sending signals that something’s missing. You’re thirsty. You need a drink of Living Water. The Holy Spirit has been given and lives in you. Jesus is waiting for you to draw from the wells of salvation. Take time to be still. Drink from the waters of the Holy Spirit in you. Allow Him to flood your soul until rivers of living water flow out of you.
