The glory of God often is equated with the brilliantly shining sun that is too bright, too awesome, too much for us to absorb, which forces us to quickly turn away. But when Jesus took on human flesh, for an instant the radiance of the Godhead was blocked just enough for you to see what the Almighty is really like, to stand in His presence and behold the Creator and King.But that brief moment of Christ’s veiled glory is gone. He’s no longer the Baby in the manger, the gentle Teacher on a hillside, or the suffering Servant on the cross. He now holds the exalted position of King of kings! While Christ’s offer still stands for the weary to come to Him, one day it will end, and those who rejected it will hear Him say, “I never knew you; depart from Me” (Matthew 7:23 NKJV). While the offer is still open, come to Him in salvation, trusting that He will drive away sin and hopelessness, just as the sun drives away darkness. In their place, He illumines your heart so you can glorify God in Heaven (Matthew 5:16).
