Turn Heads and Souls

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” –Matthew 21:10 NIV

Do you remember the last person who entered a room and caused the whole room to ask, “Who is that?” It probably seemed like they had a lot of power, that they could make a whole room freeze. What about the one who stirred a whole city? A whole city! Not a half dozen in the break room.It has been estimated that at least 600,000 people lived in Jerusalem during the time when Christ rode into town. Some estimates are over 1,000,000. That is a lot of heads to turn and people to stir. Jesus knew where He was heading. He knew the impact He would have on the city and what the bittersweet outcome would be. Yet He entered. On His own, of His own will. He intentionally set out to finish the job He had been sent to do. Do you enter a situation with that kind of intentionality? Or determination? Or surrender to the Father’s plans? It’s easy to hesitate, dodge, and get sidetracked. But this week pray, “Lord, I want to be the kind of person who stirs rooms, groups, and even large cities when I enter. I want to be a person who makes others ask not one but two questions, “Who is that? And how can I get some of what that person has?”

prayer focuses

Pray that God would grant you a clear vision for whom He wants you to impact for Him.

Thank God for the boldness and courage it will take to make an impact in those lives!
