Waiting for God's Best

Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” –John 13:7 NIV

Waiting on God can feel like a dense fog hovering over our souls. We get impatient waiting just a few years, and we know friends and loved ones who’ve waited decades for an answered prayer. Our prayers can sometimes seem to be hitting the ceiling.

Waiting is never easy; but it teaches us that we’re not in control, after all, even when we like to think we are. It teaches us the beauty of surrender to the One who knows us better than anyone else—the one who actually knows our needs before we speak them out of our hearts. Are we afraid of messing our futures up or worrying too much about them? We may not know what is going on now, but later we will understand.

Rest assured, that His grace has us covered. He is sovereign over our lives and our very breath. So, we each must take a deep breath, know we have purpose, trust in His plan, hope in His Word, and wait for Him.

Jesus, help me to lean on You for the grace and patience needed to wait on Your timing.

Thank You, Lord, for giving me Your best in Your perfect timing.
