What Color Are Your Eyes?

You shall not covet…anything that belongs to your neighbor. –Exodus 20:17 NIV

Even the most confident among us have experienced envy. Someone else’s marriage seems sturdier than ours. Someone else’s kids routinely get straight A’s or never give their parents an ounce of trouble. Someone else has the house or car or job we wish we had. Someone else’s life seems so perfect. When you start thinking that other people’s lives are better or happier than yours, remind yourself that those thoughts don’t come from God. Your Creator has given you everything you need to live the life He chose for you, and it’s completely different from His plan for anyone else. You are unique. There has never been anyone like you; there never will be. Satan wants us to constantly compare ourselves to others so that we never feel satisfied with the path God has chosen for us. Don’t buy into it. You can’t possibly walk along someone else’s path. Stay on your own course and fulfill your own calling. God has given you a perfect blend of talents, gifts, and abilities that no one else has ever had or ever will have. Your mission is unique, just as you are, and you’re the only one who can fulfill it.

prayer focuses

Ask God to reveal His will for your life, even if it’s just one step at a time.

Praise God that He has never created two people alike and never will.
