But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. –John 1:12 NKJV
Psalm 139:1-24 says that God is all-seeing, all-knowing, all-powerful, and present everywhere. God knows us and is always with us. His greatest gift is to allow us to know Him. When we accept Him as our Savior, Jesus gives us His Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, we would not be capable of producing His fruit. The fruit of the Spirit is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT). When these fruits are evident in our lives, it shows growth in our relationship with Him. The Bible tells us who we are in Christ. We are complete, alive, free from the law of sin and death, free from fear, having the mind of Christ, full of peace that passes all understanding, and full of wisdom and revelation. We have received the power of the Holy Spirit. Let us be grateful to God for who we are in Him every day. We might not be where we want to be yet, but at least we are not where we used to be!
Thank God for who you are in Christ—and know you are greatly loved by God.
Ask God to help you walk in the truth of being a new person in Christ (see 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV).
