Would You Give Up Your Son?

Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer… –Isaiah 53:10 NIV

Would you be able to watch your innocent child be tortured to death, even if you knew his death would change the entire course of human history? Isaiah 52:14 (NIV) reveals that Jesus’ “…appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and His form marred beyond human likeness ….” as He hung on the Cross. No doubt, the angels turned away and God cried as He watched His Son bear the weight of the world’s sin. Jesus was spotless, but God allowed every one of our sins to be placed on Him. Because of what God asked Jesus to do, and because Jesus obeyed completely, the veil between you and the Father was torn. You are free to pursue as close a relationship with Him as you choose, to speak to Him directly, and to call Him your best friend. Your Father made the ultimate sacrifice for you in giving up His only Son. What would He not do for you? Would He refuse to heal your pain, change your heart, answer every prayer, or surround you with His unfailing love, light, and protection? This is how much God loves you.

prayer focuses

Rejoice that sinless Jesus alone paid the price for the sins of the world.

Thank God for His supreme sacrifice of His only Son, whom He loves as He loves you.
