“My son,” the father said, “you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.” –Luke 15:31 NIV
In the story of the prodigal son, there are three characters: the father, the son who left, and the son who stayed. The son who left returns home after squandering his inheritance. The son who stayed is bitter toward his father for celebrating his brother’s return. The father pulls the son who remained aside and says to him, “My son…you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found” (Luke 15:31-32 NIV).God says this very thing to you. “I am your Father and all that is Mine is yours.” Because of your relationship with God through Christ, you can receive everything that is in your Father’s Kingdom. What are you walking through today? Are you frustrated because you see your friends and family living out the dreams that God has promised you? Are you hurting because it seems like your dreams never come true while the dreams of others’ do?Have faith and don’t lose heart! God has heard your cry and will fulfill His promises to you. Don’t get sucked into the deceit of the enemy by being resentful of the fortunes of others. Instead, celebrate with and for them, knowing that all of God’s resources are still available to you.
Pray that God will speak to you specifically and intimately.
Thank God for the reminder that He still answers prayers and fulfills His promises.
